Courtney Love: Dave Grohl hit on Frances Bean

Jemal Countess / Getty Images

By Rolling Stone

Courtney Love has accused Dave Grohl of attempting to seduce her 19-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, Gawker reports. The Hole singer made the accusations on her private Twitter account last night, claiming that her estranged daughter's roommate informed her that the Foo Fighters frontman "hit on Frances." Grohl is, of course, the former bandmate of Frances' father, Kurt Cobain, and has known her since she was an infant.

In a series of subsequent tweets, Love threatened Grohl and speculated on his "pathology," noting that Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins resembles Cobain and is in the "submissive drummer position" in the band, and that he named his daughter Violet, which happens to be the name of one of Love's biggest hits. She later declared that Grohl is "sexually obsessed" with Kurt, relaying information from a driver who claimed that Grohl had "his hands all over" Frances in his car.

This is hardly the first time Love has attacked Grohl in public. Back in November, the singer launched into a tirade against him at a festival in Brazil prompted by her outrage at a fan carrying a poster of Cobain in the audience.

Love's private Twitter account, @cbabymichelle, is locked from the public, but Gawker has posted a screen capture collecting all of her tweets from last night.

Philips' new ErgoSensor desktop display demands that you sit up straight
Remember those halcyon days when your mother would chide you to sit up straight should you ever start to slouch? Good news, desk jockeys, because Philips' ErgoSensor desktop monitor is here to stop your stooping now that mom's no longer around -- and it doesn't require you to wear some silly plastic pendant or occupy any of your USB real estate. The 24-inch, 250-nit, 1920 x 1080 display has a sensor in its bezel that watches you while you work, and warns you when your posture becomes poor or if you've been staring at the screen too long. It also informs users how to set up the monitor for optimal viewing distance and ergonomic position. Plus, it can tell when you're not around and shut the screen off to conserve power. We don't know how much money the monitor will cost or even when it'll be available to fix your poor sitting form, but we do know you can learn everything else about it at the source below.

Life expectancy may affect when you get married, divorced, have kids: Queen's University study

People may be subconsciously influenced by how long they think they will live, Queens study finds

Major life decisions such as marriage, divorce, abortion, having a child and attending university may be subconsciously influenced by how long people believe they will live, according to a Queen's University study.

"Life expectancy might be driving all of these major decisions," says Daniel Krupp, a post doctoral fellow in the Queen's math department who has a background in psychology and biology.

The longer someone expects to live, the more time they will invest in education. If life expectancy is short, someone may decide to get married and have children sooner, or stick with the partner they are currently with rather than seek a divorce.

It is impossible to know how long someone is going to live, but there are many life expectancy cues not consciously processed, affecting how many more years people expect to live. How healthy are they? Do they have a risky job? Are their grandparents still alive? Is there a history of disease in the family?

A branch of evolutionary theory known as life history theory predicts life expectancy to influence major life decisions in humans, as it does in the lives of other animals. Dr. Krupp's findings based on population data from Statistics Canada help to confirm this.

Florida Schools Flying High on Last Year's ... - Special Education

The 2005-2006 school year was a tremendous success for the Florida schools, especially at the middle school level. The Florida schools? educators across the state worked hard to improve student academic achievement levels and were rewarded for their efforts. The state of Florida awarded grades of A or B to 75 percent of its public schools. Not only did this show extraordinary progress for the Florida schools, but it also was a new record for the state.

The strongest gains were made in the middle schools. For example, Lake County has nine middle schools. Seven earned a grade of A last year, with the other two earning Bs. One of the B schools missed receiving an A by only one point. Osceola County has ten middle schools of which six earned an A, three earned a B, and one received a C grade.

Middle school is a crucial stage of academic achievement for students. It is the time when students transition from developing the basic skills learned in elementary school to learning how to put them into practice. Here, students begin to learn more in-depth content in order to develop the foundation that is needed in high school. Secondary education then builds on the foundation by digging deeper into the content and using it to help students develop their minds and become well-rounded adults.

If the middle schools in Florida do their jobs right, as they did last year, then students will achieve a greater success in high school, be more likely to go on to college, and have a better chance to obtain and excel in a good career.

The major problems facing all middle schools in Florida educators are the hormonal changes that youth experience at this age and the intense peer pressure students must deal with on a daily basis. These challenges make it easy for middle school students to get off track.

Florida schools? educators are working hard to divert the students? attention away from these problems by getting them more focused on learning. Many Florida schools are looking at last year?s strategies to review what worked and what did not. They plan to duplicate last year?s success, with the hopes of doing even better this year.

Seminole County schools, for example, improved the reading scores of struggling students by incorporating two research-based programs into its reading curriculum. They encouraged their Florida schools to use small reading groups with frequent monitoring of progress and goal setting for each student. This year, they plan to use this successful technique with their math curriculum.

Another example is Volusia County schools. Last year, they mapped their curriculum to set specific goals for each grade level and then assessed student progress based on achieving the goals.

It is obvious that educators in the Florida schools are committed to building this year on the progress they made last year. As with public schools across the nation, there will be no shortage of challenges facing the Florida schools. Unlike many public schools across the nation, the Florida schools are making progress for the youth of their state.

Is Your Boyfriend Hopping Around the Big Question? | Cupid's Pulse ...

Cupid's Pulse, celebrity couples, engagement, popping the question

Photo: Walker and Walker/Getty Images

By Daniela Agurcia

It?s only expected for the next step in your relationship to be marriage after years of being committed together, right? ?However, sometimes boyfriends evade the big question and you end up waiting for, well, nothing. ?Even if they do plan to spend the rest of their lives with you, they tend to forget that if you?re left hanging for too long, you?ll move on to find someone who?s ready to get serious. ?But most of the time, it really isn?t your fault. ?Here are some reasons why your boyfriend may be hopping around the big question:

1. He?s waiting for the perfect moment, financially

When a man gets married, he feels the responsibility to provide and care for his family. ?These financial responsibilities will usually push a guy to taking any opportunity in order to make the most money he can. ?Getting married without being financially stable or without having a plan isn?t in the books for him.

2. He doesn?t want to give up his buddies

A guy is usually obsessed with his male buddy and his ?guy time? can be something he may feel like he?ll be giving up entirely once he gets married. ?Especially if your boyfriend?s friends are single, it will be harder for him to tear himself away from the group. ?He?ll try to get all that guy time out of his system before deciding he?s ready to be 100 percent committed to marriage.

3. He might not be ready to get married yet

Getting married leads to other huge decisions that go along with it. ?Marriage means getting into the topic of having kids, possibly moving someplace different and other responsibilities he isn?t ready to get into just yet. ?It?s better to know he?s proposing when he is completely ready to make those decisions with you, so you don?t run into any problems later.

Related:??5 Things Men Look For in a Wife

4.? He doesn?t want to lose all his privacy

When you?re dating someone for so long, you become a huge part of each other?s lives. ?Marriage is another step ahead of that; you?re around each other all the time. ?Privacy can be very important to a man, something that?s hard for them to give up and share with a female. ?Realizing that everything unites once you?re married may have made your boyfriend wanting to delay the proposal a little bit longer.

What you can do to help speed up the process before he gets too comfortable is to avoid trying to change him. ?Let him do his own thing while you?re together, and if he feels he has to give up too much to be with you, it won?t be something he?ll want to make permanent. ?But, definitely make sure to have a talk with him about your next steps together as you always want to be on the same page.? If you are, marriage can?t be too far into the future.

What are some other reasons your boyfriend may be hopping around the big question? And how do you keep from losing your cool? Share with us below.
